Who is Looking at You? - Today, I had an orientation at my son’s school. He is fourteen, so next year will be his first year at high school. There was so much talk about credits and curriculum and college – it was rather confusing. Then, there was more on classes, electives, and choice programs. I came to the realization that we are looking to these counselors and these heads of the school for guidance. We are trusting them with our children and the decisions that they think are best for them.
Later on in that same day, I went in for a chemical peel that my dermatologist had recommended I receive. I thought, oh my gosh, I’m leaving my face in the care and the guidance of this woman.
Hence, these two scenarios truly got me thinking about how much guidance we get without ever even realizing it. We subconsciously look up to people and seek help from people. I started to wonder who, in my own life, is coming to me in this same sense.
I mean, everyone in the entire world is responsible for someone else – whether they are fifteen or eighteen or twenty-two or thirty or fifty. There is someone in every human’s life where other people are coming to them asking questions and looking for guidance. They are watching right now.
It goes to show how imperative it is to watch how you act in your everyday life. Little tiny things or huge important things, someone is paying close attention. More info on the revelation that you are a role model ---here--- on my latest podcast!
